What you need:
COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paints (This project uses Mermaid, Island Girl, Treasure Chest, Summer Pedicure)
Stand mixer
Fine-grit sandpaper
Painter’s tape
Precision craft knife
Dish soap and rag
Take off removable parts and clean your stand mixer
To start on the best stand mixer makeover, take the removable parts off your stand mixer. This includes the bowl and attachments, the back panel (one screw on the back top), the metal strip across the top (removed with two screws under the back panel on each side), the bottom part that holds the bowl (remove three screws), and the front label that holds attachments. Carefully set aside these parts and be sure not to lose any pieces. Use dish soap and a rag to thoroughly clean your stand mixer, lightly sand it, then clean again.
Tape areas you don’t want painted, then apply primer
Use painter’s tape to tape off all of your silver metal parts (the screws, the front horizontal panel, and the side locking arm and speed lever) and the cord. Use your precision craft knife to carefully cut the tape to cover the details. In a well-ventilated area, place your stand mixer on blocks to raise it, then spray one or two light coats of COLORSHOT White Primer as a base.
Apply spray paint in light, even coats
Begin spray painting your mixer in your desired colors to create THE best stand mixer for your kitchen! This example uses a gradient of Mermaid, Island Girl, Treasure Chest, and Summer Pedicure to create an ultra-colorful ombre. Remember to apply spray paint in light, even coats, and let dry in between coats.
Allow to dry completely and apply sealer
Once you have finished painting your stand mixer, allow to dry for at least 24 hours so the paint can cure. Seal with a few coats of COLORSHOT Clear Sealer Gloss for a super shiny finish. Allow to dry completely for another 24 hours.
Remove painter’s tape and reassemble
Finally, peel the painter’s tape off your stand mixer and reassemble the parts you removed. The best stand mixer ever is now ready for your kitchen creations!
