Customize Your Kid’s Ride-On Car with Spray Paint & Markers
We partnered up with our pal Lhey Bella Ralston to show you a fun way to make your child’s ride-on car one of a kind. You just need COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paints and Paint Markers! Soon your little one will be cruising in style down the BLVD (that’s Backyard Lawn in View of the Deck)!
What you need:
- COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint(This project uses Head in the Clouds, Bubble Bath, Orange Slices, Clear Skies, Farmer’s Daughter, Aromatherapy, and Emoji—but you can use whichever colors are your kid’s favorites!)
- COLORSHOT Premium Paint Markers, assorted colors
- Kid’s Toy Ride-on Car
- Painter’s tape
Unwrap and clean all pieces
If your ride-on car is brand new, unwrap all the pieces. If you’re using a preowned mini-vehicle, you might want to take it apart first. Make sure it’s clean and free from dirt and dust.
Spray paint with your main base colors
Use your COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint to cover each piece with your base color (or colors). If there are any parts you don’t want painted, cover them with your painter’s tape. Spray several light coats onto your ride-on car until desired coverage is achieved, letting it dry in between coats.
Use paint markers to add extra coloring
Add more color to each piece using your COLORSHOT Paint Markers! Get creative and add as many colorful details onto your ride-on car as you’d like, such as an accent to the wheel rims, racing stripes to the side of the car, or other fun patterns.
Draw extra decorations onto car
Once your pieces are fully dry, you can assemble the ride-on car following the directions in the packaging. Now you can have some fun adding even more decorations! Use your paint markers and draw directly on to the plastic. We added lots of colorful clouds and flowers, but you can get creative and draw on anything you’d like!
Now your cool kid is ready to take on spring in their new ride!
