The weather’s getting warmer, so it’s time to get ready for summer adventures! Before you spend big bucks at the store on new beach equipment, consider reusing and upcycling last year’s gear with COLORSHOT! This tutorial from Maria Provenzano will show you how to customize your beach essentials with COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paints. Summer Pedicure and Orange Slice are a perfect summer combo, while VIP adds a sparkling gold finish. Vibrant colors like these are the best way to stand out at the beach!
COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paints (This project uses Summer Pedicure, Orange Slice, and VIP)
Plastic beach chair
Plastic cooler
Fine-grit sandpaper
Masking tape (optional)
Prepare your beach chair and cooler for painting! Remove any hardware from your beach essentials if necessary and use masking tape to cover any areas that you don’t want painted. Use fine-grit sandpaper to lightly buff shiny surfaces, then clean to remove any remaining dust or debris. Always use spray paint in a well-ventilated area and cover surrounding areas to protect from overspray. Prime your beach essentials with a coat of COLORSHOT White Primer for best results.
Shake the can vigorously for 1 minute before applying color to your beach chair and cooler. Shake often during use. Hold the can upright 6"-10" from surface and spray in smooth, even strokes. Apply one light coat at a time, waiting a few minutes between coats. We used Summer Pedicure and Orange Slice to add vibrant color to these beach essentials.
Add a shimmering gold finish to your beach essentials with VIP! Lightly spray your beach essentials with the glitter spray paint in smooth, even strokes. Once you’re satisfied with the amount of sparkle, allow the paint to dry completely for at least 24 hours.
Once the paints have dried completely, your beach essentials are ready to use! This vibrant summertime palette is perfect for a day at the beach, or even a backyard picnic by the pool!
