Marbling Spray Paint Art Technique

Most people probably think of paint pouring techniques when creating marbling art, but did you know you can actually use spray paint as well? Artist Stacie England got innovative with COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paints and a blowdryer to create some seriously awesome canvas art ... and she's letting us all in on how she did it! Check out this tutorial and get inspired to create your own abstract marbling spray paint art with COLORSHOT.

Begin by spraying abstract swatches of your base colors. They can be any colors you like! Normally we tell you to spray light coats, but this time, don't be afraid to lay it on thick. You want enough paint on the canvas to be able to move and shift around.

Continue spraying pools of different colors over one another.

Add a bright contrasting color over the others in any shape you like.

Mist a darker color like Little Black Dress over the top, allowing some of the other colors to show through. This darker shade will add depth later as you marble the colors.

Contrast with a lighter color in sections.

Add another large pool of another contrasting color over part of the canvas.

Once you have enough layers of wet paint on the canvas, grab your blowdryer and start blowing the color around the canvas until you're happy with how the colors have shifted.

For added interest, try using a palette knife to carve designs into the wet paint.

Tilt and shift the canvas around one last time to create a little extra movement. Once you're happy with the effect, let it dry completely. repeat on other canvases to create an entire set!
