Landscape Spray Paint Art Technique
You don't have to be a trained artist to create a cool landscape painting for your space; you just need some COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paints and Acrylic Paints, and this tutorial from artist Stacie England. Wait, did we say landscape art created with spray paint? Yes we did! Read on for a quick tutorial then get out your spray paints and get ready to make some art that keeps you inspired.
Brush a coat of acrylic paint onto the canvas for your basecoat. Spray the spray paint colors you would like for your sky onto the top portion of your canvas in abstract swatches.
Using your palette knife, smear acrylic paint over the top of the spray paint swatches in horizontal and vertical movements as shown. You're basically creating a crisscross style pattern.
Spray a horizontal swatch of the color you want to use for your tree landscape across the canvas starting with where you want your trees to meet the skyline.
Repeat using the palette knife to pull and blend acrylic paint upwards over the spray swatch (to form tree trunks), then horizontally (tree leaves).
Continue process, working your way down the canvas.
Repeat until you are happy with the look, then let dry completely.
Such a fun way to create landscape art, right? Thanks for sharing this cool technique Stacie!
