Supplies needed:
COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint in Cheers

Wooden appliqués
Painter’s tape
Sandpaper/sanding block
Staple gun + staples
Cotton batting
Scissors
Upholstery fabric
Microfiber towel
Flat head screwdriver
Drop cloth or other protective surface cover
Step 1: Remove seat from wooden accent chair
To start on your wooden accent chair makeover, remove the seat from your chair. Remove the old fabric from the seat and discard. It may help to use a flat head screwdriver to pry the seat from the base of the chair or remove any staples from the seat.
Step 2: Sand the wooden accent chair
Prepare the wooden accent chair for painting by lightly sanding the surface. If you’re upcycling a thrifted chair, this will help to smoothen any dings or scuffs! Use a microfiber towel to clean the chair and ensure it is free of any dust, dirt, or debris.
Step 3: Glue appliqués to wooden accent chair
Decide where you’d like to place the appliqués on your wooden accent chair. Apply a small amount of Wood Glue to any areas of the appliqué that will make contact with the chair. Press the wood appliqué into place, then secure with painter’s tape while the glue dries. Once the glue has dried completely, carefully remove the tape.
Step 4: Reupholster the wooden accent chair’s seat
Place the wooden accent chair’s seat on top of the cotton batting and upholstery fabric. Trim the batting to be slightly larger than the seat. Insert additional batting as desired to create a more plush, cozy chair! Pull the upholstery fabric taut and staple to the seat until it is completely covered.
Step 5: Apply primer to wooden accent chair
Place your wooden accent chair onto a drop cloth in a well-ventilated area to protect from overspray. Use COLORSHOT White Primer as a base coat for your chair. This premium-quality primer ensures maximum adhesion and color vibrancy when used with COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint! Shake the can well and apply primer in smooth, even strokes. Allow to dry to the touch before proceeding.
Step 6: Apply spray paint to wooden accent chair
We’re using COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint in Cheers for a luxurious champagne metallic finish. Shake the can of spray paint well and apply to the wooden accent chair in smooth, even strokes. Allow the paint to dry to the touch before applying additional coats as desired. Once you’re satisfied with the coverage, allow the spray paint to cure completely.
Step 7: Reassemble your wooden accent chair and display!
Reassemble your chair by gluing the seat onto the base with Wood Glue. Once the glue has cured completely, your wooden accent chair is ready to display. This cozy chair is perfect for adding a touch of elegance to any room!
