Halloween planter supplies
For this Halloween craft idea, first decide where you want to create your display so you know what size of planters you’ll need to fit the space. That will help you determine how many foam rings to use, and the size of the vase for your planter base.
Apply glue to foam base
To attach the rings together, apply a line of glue around the top of one ring. (If you don’t have a hot glue gun, you can use any strong industrial glue that works on foam.)
Press foam ring on top of glue
Press another foam ring on top of the base ring. Tip from Norx in the Know: there is a seam line on each ring, so make sure to align the seams as you stack each ring on top of the other for a cohesive look.
Continue gluing and stacking to desired size
Place the glass bowl in the center of the foam rings, then continue applying glue and stacking rings until you’ve created the planter containers to your desired size. Once the glue is dry, it’s time to start painting this fun Halloween craft idea!
Spray texture onto foam rings
Working in a well-ventilated area, spray texture to your liking on each planter, working your way around all sides.
Spray COLORSHOT onto rings
Next spray several light coats of spray paint onto the planters and the base pieces, letting dry between coats.
Glue foam rings to base
After the spray paint dries, glue the base pieces to the base of the glass bowls sitting inside the planters. Let dry.
Place potted plant inside planter
Don’t forget to insert plants into your new planters!
Embellish planters with Halloween items
Complete this cool Halloween craft idea by attaching spooky spiders, flowers or other themed decorations to each planter. (If you plan on switching out the decorations per season, use a temporary glue instead of a permanent one.)
