If you’re in need of kitchen storage organization tips, you are in the right place! Keeping an organized pantry/food cabinet helps with tracking your grocery list and easily finding ingredients and snacks when you need them! (Seriously how many bottles of mustard do you have to buy before remembering you already have three? Asking for a friend.) Freshly Fuji shared with us a photo of her food cabinet before she did a major kitchen storage organization overhaul. Get out your COLORSHOT and get ready to get inspired!

Clear food storage containers

Clear food containers are a great way to keep some of your food products like cereals and pasta fresh longer, and they also help you track when you are getting low on inventory.

Use a chalk marker to label containers

Use a COLORSHOT Chalk Marker to label the containers with the food items they contain. The best part is that when you use a Chalk Marker, you can easily wipe it away with a damp cloth and relabel with other item names as needed. Tip: use a strand of painter’s tape to help keep your labeling straight!

Clear kitchen storage bins

Another super useful kitchen storage organization tool is a clear bin. This helps you keep food items in boxes, cans and jars neatly organized by category (such as dinner ingredients or sauces, etc. – whatever kind of categorization works for you). Get creative with your labeling using Acrylic Paints and Paint Markers!

Label the bins with paint and paint markers

Label the bins with paint and paint markers

To label your clear bins, use a paintbrush to paint several layers of your favorite Acrylic Paint color onto the INSIDE front of the bin. (You can tape it off if you really want clean edges, or freehand for a less-structured look.) Once the paint dries, use a contrasting Chalk Paint Marker to write out the kinds of foods the bin will hold on the OUTSIDE of the bin, over the color swatch. (That way you can wipe away and relabel while keeping your base color intact.)

Painted and labeled kitchen storage baskets

Woven baskets are an excellent, stylish kitchen storage organization option for larger food items or cookware, or items you don’t necessarily want to look at but you still need. Spray painting them is an easy way to add some color in your organization theme!

Mask and spray paint baskets

Use painter’s tape and heavy kraft paper to tape off any portion of your baskets that you don’t want to spray paint. Working in a well-ventilated area, spray several light coats of your chosen color onto the basket. Remove the tape and paper, and let dry.

Clip labels onto baskets

Once your woven baskets are dry, clip the bin labels on and use your Chalk Marker to label each.

Whiteboard cabinet doors are a smart kitchen organization tool to help keep the contents of your pantry organized without taking up space! You can track your grocery list, menu for the week and more!

Attach whiteboard to cabinet door

Attach whiteboard to cabinet door

To create your own whiteboard cabinet doors: Measure the inside surface of your cabinet doors and trim the chalkboard paper to fit. Peel off a few inches of the liner and apply the chalkboard adhesive to the top portion of the door. Repeat this process, removing a little bit of the liner at a time until you get to the bottom. Use a scraper tool to help smooth out any bubbles as you go. Trim off any excess adhesive paper with a craft knife. You can attach a caddy inside the cabinet to hold your colored Chalk Markers to use for writing your grocery list and planning out your weekly menu. Wipe off with a damp cloth when you’re ready for next week!

Use a stencil and acrylic paint to decorate drawers

This decorative stenciled drawers idea from Freshly Fuji isn’t a must, but we love the added touch for creating a kitchen storage space you want to keep up! Simply press an adhesive-backed stencil of your choice onto the drawers and brush Acrylic Paint over the stencil. Remove and let dry, and you have some pretty new drawers to go with your organized pantry!
