Step 1: Prepare the skeleton decoration for spray painting

Prepare the skeleton for spray painting

Prepare your skeleton decoration for painting by lightly sanding shiny surfaces. This step will improve paint adhesion for your DIY Halloween décor! Ensure your Halloween skeleton is clean, dry, and free of dust and debris before painting. For this project, we’re using COLORSHOT in Treasure Chest for a luxurious metallic gold finish!

Step 2: Apply metallic gold spray paint on the skeleton decoration

Place the skeleton decoration onto a drop cloth in a well-ventilated area to protect from overspray. Shake the can of spray paint well and apply spray paint to your Halloween skeleton in smooth, even strokes. Allow the paint to dry to the touch before applying additional coats as desired. Once you’re satisfied with the color and coverage, allow your DIY Halloween décor to dry and cure completely.

Step 3: Arrange flowers, moss and butterflies on the Halloween skeleton

Begin arranging the faux flowers, foliage, preserved moss, and butterflies onto your skeleton decoration as desired. Add moss to the large cavities, such as the ribcage, pelvis, and mouth, then arrange flowers and foliage to fill your Halloween skeleton decoration more completely. Place the butterflies as a final embellishment.

Step 4: Glue flowers, moss and butterflies onto the Halloween skeleton
