Custom Children’s Wooden Growth Chart
If you have a little one at home, you know how fast they grow! Although we want our kids to stay young and small forever, keeping track of their growth progress can be fun— especially with a wooden growth chart that’s customized with COLORSHOT! This tutorial from Viviana Marinos is a great addition for any child’s bedroom, and will have you watching them grow for years to come!
What you need:
COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paints
COLORSHOT Premium Paint Marker
Wooden craft stars
Ruler or measuring tape
Stickers (optional)
Various colors of COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint
First, you’ll want to pick which COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paints to use for your wooden growth chart! This project uses Bubble Bath, Vintage Lace, Farmer’s Daughter, Aromatherapy, and Clear Sealer.
Spray paint each wooden star
It’s time to spray paint each star for your wooden growth chart! Lay your stars out in a well-ventilated area with a drop cloth to catch any overspray and begin spraying each piece with your desired COLORSHOT Premium Spray Paint in slow, even strokes. Allow to dry completely and repeat on the back side. Use the COLORSHOT Clear Sealer afterward, if desired.
Glue stars to form a line
Once all of your stars are completely dried, line them up to form your wooden growth chart. If the stars have holes for string, it helps to overlap the corners with the string holes. Use a dab of Aleene’s Wood Glueand firmly press down to secure the pieces together. Allow to dry completely.
Mark numbers and inches onto your wooden growth chart
Next, use a ruler or measuring tape to mark numbers and inches onto your wooden growth chart. When you map them out, make sure that all of your measurements fall onto a star. You can use stickers or hand paint the measurements with a COLORSHOT Premium Paint Marker.
Hang up your wooden growth chart
