Dissolve about 1 tablespoon of salt into 12 ounces of warm water and transfer into a spray bottle. While your salt water solution is cooling, prepare your foliage and sort them into what will be dyed and what will be sprayed. Lay your foliage onto a cookie sheet/wire rack combo to catch excess dye.

Apply dye to foliage

To dye foliage, lightly spray with salt water then sprinkle dye onto them. Don’t let the dye clump—a light coat of dye will do the trick! Spray with a little more salt water and allow to dry fully flat. Repeat for the other side of the foliage. If you accidentally apply too much dye, you may need to brush off or wipe away the excess.
